Joshua Bolten: Another Wanker

Source: bloomberg

Fitting in nicely amongst the globalists and elitists the president has surrounded himself with Josh Bolten had this to say to Americans today...
White House Chief of Staff Joshua Bolten said he didn't know if the protests would cause opponents to stiffen their resolve against immigration law changes backed by Bush.

``There are ways to solve the enormous illegal immigration problem that we have in this country,'' he said on the ``Fox News Sunday'' program. ``But I think only if we tone down the very emotional rhetoric on both sides of it and come to some consensus position in the middle.''
How about no Josh? How about that. How about you sons of bitches start enforcing the law. I'm emotional cuz I see my country going down the tubes, which part of that am I supposed to be happy about so you bastards can get your slave labor?

Nevermind, it's a rhetorical question.

One final thought. I believe it was Eugene McCarthy who once said "The worst accidents happen in the middle of the road." Let's not find consensus, let's enforce the law!

Nuestro Himno: Freedom Folks Responds

There's been a lot of flap lately over Nuestro Himno (Jake has been prolific here, here, here and here, and a couple of Michelle Malkin's great posts are here and here), the bi-lingual version abomination of our national anthem.

Being the patriots that we are, Jake and I couldn't help but whip out our own version...

Enjoy!

I Like This Guy

Josue Sierra has a great post up today on the "Nuestro Himno" debate.

Read it

But Wait...

There's even more stupid...
narrow Minded
Category: News and Politics

what does it take to be different and yet the same, I have all the same organs, my blood is the same color, we can all talk the mutual langue of hand gestures, we laugh, we cry, but only laws and lines on a map make us different. if you look at the founding of this country, the arms were open to all, but now they are folded or crossed, it makes me sad to think someone can't live here due to some law or live anywhere they want for that fact..... and people who were born here and have this narrow concept that this is there land, should have done to them what the white man did to the people who were already living here over two hundred years ago. I believe that loyalty should not be to a nation, but to family, friends and there fellow man.
And if you order now you'll receive this lovely comment found steaming beneath this tripe at no extra cost...
Well, you know my opinion on this already! I will save my long rant for another day but ... Ignorance breeds violence. Violence begets violence! To stop this vicious cycle we have to stop be ignorant. Accept people for who they are and not judge them based on their nationality, their ethnicity, their religion! There are good and evil in each and every one of those (nationality, ethnicity, religion) and it is terribly sad to see so many lump the entire group based off the actions of the bad ones. INFURIATES ME!
President Bush said today that if the immigrants want to live here they need to speak Enlgish, sing the anthem in English. What the hell?! Is our own President so ignorant to not embrace teh diversity of this country and accept it for greatness it brings. These people are here because they WANT TO BE HERE. So, if they speak another language or sing the anthem in another langauge does that make them any less acceptable? Hardly! I am so eager to see what happens in American when the imigrants stop working for a day.
Years ago I would have agreed with the President. Shoot, I have said the same things in the past. Then, I realized how incredibly ignorant and RACIST it was. Instead of fearing differances - embrace them. I did and have met some of the most amazing people in the world! I have friends that are Iraqi, Muslim, Iranian, Gay! Should I close my eyes to them because of what the media says? I am thankful I am not a sheep but a shepherd this matter!!
We sincerely wish this sort of stupidity was limited, but it's not, so order freely!

This individual avers her alleged patriotism before counseling defeatism and cowardice...
WHAT SHOULD WE DO
If you look at history and geography....um...you'll see that Mexicans are going to be a part of American culture....there's no stopping that eventuality. No wall is high enough, no minutemen vicicious enough, it's inevitable. So lets just prepare for the future. I think our children's children will all be bilingual in Spanish/English. The Euro-centric ethnic "base" of the population of America will eventually change. It's happening all over the world. The whole world is a melting pot now. Accept it.
Um, no thanks!

Rasmussen Blogs On Immigration Polling

Source: RCP
The (illegal immigration) issue has power because politicians from both parties have ignored it for a long time and haven't begun to figure out the nuances or context of the debate.

Most current discussion by elected officials starts with a focus on illegal aliens. For most voters, that's letting the tail wag the dog.

The best place to start is with the bigger picture where most Americans agree. We've been polling state-by-state on this issue all month and consistently find agreement on a few key points.

1. Most Americans in all states want a welcoming national immigration policy that lets our nation assimilate new people into the national melting pot. Our polls have consistently found strong support for a policy goal that welcomes everybody except criminals, national security, threats, and those who want to live off our welfare system.

2. Just as important, most Americans also want a policy that emphasizes enforcement first. They want the nation to gain control of its borders and enforce existing laws before other reforms are considered.

3. As a pragmatic step to support the first two points, most Americans want to build a barrier along the Mexican border.

These goals are not at all contradictory. In fact, they flow naturally from the fact that we are a nation of immigrants, a nation of laws, and a nation of pragmatic problem solvers.

Where does this leave the 11 million or so illegal immigrants living and working in the USA? Unfortunately, they are the pawns in the current debate, but not the central issue.

Let's hope there's a leader out there ready to focus on the bigger picture of the immigration debate... a picture that is welcoming, enforceable, and enforced.

If that person doesn't step forward, it's easy to envision an outcome that only a political junkie could love. Imagine that the nation remains bitterly divided between Republicans and Democrats. Then, a 3rd party candidate campaigns on immigration, picks up a few Southwestern states, and prevents either party's Presidential nominee from winning a majority of the Electoral College. Not a pretty picture.

Mickey Kaus: Let's Just Be Friends

Source: Slate
Commitment Problems Got You Down? Here's Adam Kidron, "president of Urban Box Office, the New York-based entertainment company that launched the [Spanish national anthem] project":

"It's the one thing everybody has in common, the aspiration to have a relationship with the United States . . . and also to express gratitude and patriotism to the United States for providing the opportunity," says Kidron. [Emphasis added]

Hmm. A "relationship with the United States." Don't lay it on too thick! Sounds like a very ... modern view of the position of an individual vis-a-vis a state. ... I'm not knocking that view--it's probably because my grandfather had this ambiguous and conditional attitude toward the country where he was born and where he lived (Germany) that he was psychologically able to leave immediately when Hitler came to power. But it's not exactly the pledge of allegiance many Americans want to hear at the moment. ... You can have a "relationship" with several nations, right? You could, for example, use one country to earn a living ("the opportunity") while your heart belonged to another country! ... When your boyfriend or girlfriend says "I value our relationship" instead of "I love you," is that when you invite them to move in or when you invite them to stop calling? Bush Says Anthem Should Be in English

Source: breitbart

This has been covered ad nausuem by other blogs, and covered well at that. I have a little different take and focus on this. When asked about the Spanish version of the Star Spangled Banner Bush suggested all immigrants should learn English and then he blah -- bla -- blah, blah blah.

Hm? Oh, I'm sorry, whenever our president blathers on in this fashion I tend to drift off. Sorry about that.

Back to bizness, after the painful platitudes president Bush said this...(as per usual idiocy bolded)
"One of the things that's very important is, when we debate this issue, that we not lose our national soul," the president exclaimed. "One of the great things about America is that we've been able to take people from all walks of life bound as one nation under God. And that's the challenge ahead of us."
Recently the president was quoted as saying this...
Bush was peeved at Congress for not completing the tax reconciliation bill to extend the tax cuts on cap gains and dividends. He also wants a comprehensive immigration bill that does not include a 700-mile wall. He told us “immigration helps restore our souls.”
Now pay attention, I don't give a rat's ass what Mr. Bush desires for my or our souls. He ain't a preacher and we didn't hire him to "save" this nation. We hired him to not "F" it up if at all possible, failing that for him to do nothing and shut his goddamn cakehole until he can quietly exit the stage with a morsel of dignity.

So here's a piece of unsolicited advice, Mr. President, you have no jurisdiction over our souls. I don't trust you with our borders, why in god's name would I trust you with my soul? Please sir, shut up and close the border, there is literally no other way to say it.

Or I promise you this, I and other Americans will take it upon ourselves and do the job you refuse to do. Don't think for a second that I or we depend on you sir, that would be most foolish, Americans have in the past and will again step up to the plate and do the needful sir.

So lead, follow or get the hell out of the way!

May Day March Likely to Backfire on Protesters

Ya think?

Source: RCP
If the folks who want to allow illegal immigrants to become legal residents and eventually citizens are lucky, the planned May 1 general strike to pressure Congress in their direction will be a bust.

That's because even more than mass demonstrations, the work, school and shopping boycott is likely to backfire -- pushing public opinion toward stricter border security without making it possible for such immigrants to remain in the United States legally.

Of course, some immigrant-rights activists understand the potential backlash, which is why there has been division within that community over the wisdom of the May 1 protest.

But for many within their movement, the symbolism of trying to show Congress just how powerful illegal immigrants are by trying to closing down the U.S. economy for a day is too much to pass up.
Which qualifies as the understatement of the year, followed closely by "sure I like crack but I can quit whenever I want."

These folks can't help themselves. They really believe the hype and will pay a big price for the arrogance of their leaders. Don't get me wrong, I'm not weeping crocodile tears here, I'm pleased as punch.

The More Gran Marches, more protests, the sooner we'll see your backsides pouring back over the border.

So, please? Pretty please? Mole on top?

Comments From The Reconquistas...

These comments were found in a steaming pile beneath this post over at QandO...
Dont you people understand that all we want is better lives.I know that there are many people out there talking bad about us saying that we should go back to our country. Well isnt that what you people did to the afican americans. they worked hard for their right and thanks to some people like Rosa parks and Martin luther king and of course the afican Americans who put their part into it they got what was right.Who would of known that year later that same thing would happen but to latinos. we are doing what we think we should do,if you’re not with us well that ok because everyone has their on opinion.but let me tell this now !!! LATINOS WILL ALWAY BE UNITED!!!
I just wish they could be united with their home countries!
You people are so selfish. You don’t understand that Hispanics/latinos are more willing to work than all ya lazy ass people. WE are punctual, honest, and have many more qualities than all you people put together. our lord can see what you guys are doing and he is going to come down hard on you people on JUDGEMENT DAY i just pray he has mercy on your souls!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funny thing, where is all this hard work in the Latin American countries? Do they wait until they come here and suddenly turn into super workers?
I agree with Jazmine, if the thought is to send Hispanics back to their countries, why doesn’t everyone else that is not of "Indian American" decent go back to theirs? All of our ancestors came here with hopes of a better life, except African Americans, they were brought here. Immigration is nothing new, this issue is not about immigration, it’s about who is immigrating, about the color of the immigrant’s skin. If all the illegal immigrants were from Europe (which I’m sure a lot of them are), we wouldn’t be having this issue because they happen to be WHITE. People in the US have to remember that Hispanics are very united people and the struggle won’t stop no matter how much hate and how much hurt is thrown our way. We’re smart, hard working, family oriented, God fearing people that are here to stay.
Those damn WHITE people, they're trouble I say, trouble!
SHARK you going straight to HELL!!!!!!!
You however mi chicita, are going straight back to Mexico, I'm not sure which is worse though.
I just want to say someting really quick about the mexicanas the mexicans rule the world they just want to help out and don’t sent the poor people that they don’t have papoaers they want to help tp get papaer for them and stay with their family and be happy ok mexican. I am real MEXICAN people belive or not ok PURO MEXICO MEXICANOS what the hell the gringos are talking about I know that they don’t like the mexican they are just racies and dum asses they don’t know what they are talking ok so don’t listen to them mexicans.
Hold on a second, I thought God created whiskey to keep the Irish from ruling the world, are you telling me he also created cervezas to keep Mexicans...
you all lazzy white people you know that mexicans work harder then all u put 2gather... for only a cuple of dollers when u all wen more for sitting on ur a......
When txt mssgng goes bad. LOL!
We all know this country is not truely based on equality, from the foundation when the constitution was drafted, slaves were not considered part of the "men" who were to recieve this new equality. we till this day still live by the same constitution, and although amendments have changed some of it, what is occuring today is still prove that there is much to change.

hate, and race should not be a part of this. but unfortunately it is. Racism is still very prevelent in the USA and those who think it has been obliviated are indeed naive.

This issue is not a fun one, and America will be split in the middle. but it must be done. we must prove those who fought for freedom fought it for all ( although they probably did not).
Freedom from the law! It has a certain ring to it you gotta admit.
On May 1st 2006, 20 million Hispanics will take to the streets in the United States and the world will listen. 100 years ago 20 thousand Mexicans protested the theft of their land in Northern Mexico and no one listened as they were killed, raped and tortured. They stood up, risked their lives and fought back, men, women and children. So they could have a better life. I am proud of the Soldadera, I am proud of the Mexican who is not afraid to fight for his country, Mexico. If those 20 million Hispanics, men, women and children would turn south, and take mexico back from the corrupt officials, they could turn it back in the great country it once was...Viva Mexico! Viva La Revolution, Viva La Soldadera... I love mexico, I love those with balls enough to fight back against the corruption. That’s who we need to be fighting both in the USA and Mexico.. Are the politcal Dogs who enslave us all..
No the world won't listen. It will pay attention for approximately nineteen seconds and then move on to the next idiot story. You however will have used up any shred of compassion Americans felt for your sorry asses, followed by a swift and certain removal of your sorry asses.

I hear Mexico is lovely this time of year, hope you enjoy it!

A Reconquista Reminder...

EL PLAN DE AZTLÁN
El Plan Espiritual de Aztlán

In the spirit of a new people that is conscious not only of its proud historical heritage but also of the brutal "gringo" invasion of our territories, we, the Chicano inhabitants and civilizers of the northern land of Aztlán from whence came our forefathers, reclaiming the land of their birth and consecrating the determination of our people of the sun, declare that the call of our blood is our power, our responsibility, and our inevitable destiny.

We are free and sovereign to determine those tasks which are justly called for by our house, our land, the sweat of our brows, and by our hearts. Aztlán belongs to those who plant the seeds, water the fields, and gather the crops and not to the foreign Europeans. We do not recognize capricious frontiers on the bronze continent

Brotherhood unites us, and love for our brothers makes us a people whose time has come and who struggles against the foreigner "gabacho" who exploits our riches and destroys our culture. With our heart in our hands and our hands in the soil, we declare the independence of our mestizo nation. We are a bronze people with a bronze culture. Before the world, before all of North America, before all our brothers in the bronze continent, we are a nation, we are a union of free pueblos, we are Aztlán.

For La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada.
Read the whole damn thing!

Here's the thing to focus on in this tripe...
For La Raza to do. Fuera de La Raza nada.
This is as racist as anything ever uttered by a Nazi or a Klansmen. For the race everything, for everybody else nothing.

It's important to note that every illegal alien march I've covered for this blog the participants were chanting this phrase. This unbelievably racist phrase.

Doesn't it just make you want to award amnesty to these sumbitches twice?

Yeah, me neither!

Nuestro Himno: Translated!

This just in via email...(I also cannot vouch for the quality of the translation)
"Our Anthem"
(Translated from Spanish)
Verse 1
Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail as night falls?
Its stars and stripes floated yesterday
In the fierce combat, the sign of victory
The flame of battle, in step with liberty.
Throughout the night it was said, "It is being defended."
Chorus:
Oh, say! Does it still show its beautiful stars
Over the land of the free, the sacred flag?
Verse 2
Its stars and stripes, liberty, we are the same.
We're brothers, it's our anthem.
In the fierce combat, the sign of victory,
The flame of battle, in step with liberty.
Throughout the night it was said, "It is being defended."
Chorus:
"Oh, say! Does it still show its beautiful stars?
Over the land of the free, the sacred flag?"
The original...
Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,
Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation;
Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us as a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust"
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
I know which one I prefer, how about you?

The Reconquista Drumbeat Goes On!

I am a PROUD MEXICAN and serving proudly in the U. S. Armed Forces. I have been in the military service for 38 years, I am a Viet-Nam Veteran and now stationed in Kuwait after volunteering for one last year it will make 39 years total. I regret not being home to support MI GENTE (my people), but, just as I supported the troops in Viet-Nam and Kuwait by being there, on Monday, May 1st, I will not be wearing my uniform, instead, I will not report for duty and I will be wearing a white t-shirt to show my PRIDE AND SUPPORT por MI GENTE for my people. ME VALE MADRE!!!!!
Can anybody tell me what the problem might be with this?

Anybody? Bueller?

Why are MEXICANS serving in the United States Military? He can't even be bothered to pretend he's an American of Mexican decent, nope, Mexican.

And this is really important, if his people are solely MI GENTE, well, this clearly isn't the country for him and he needs to get the hell out.

If this guy doesn't see himself as an AMERICAN after 39 years in the military, well what the hell's the point?

Making Plans for Illegal Alien Day

Michelle Malkin has the exclusive.

Courtesy of an inside tipster at the LA Unified School District, I've obtained documents showing the public school teachers and officials' plans in advance of the Monday illegal alien boycott. (Click on each page for full-size PDF).

The teachers' union (UTLA - United Teachers of Los Angeles) gives out obligatory warnings not to abandon the classroom without a good excuse--wink-wink, nudge-nudge--and then voices its opposition for the Sensenbrenner immigration enforcement bill. The warning wraps up with endorsement of pro-illegal alien activities taking place Monday afternoon.
Michelle's got notices regarding the May 1st pro-illegal rally, plus letters to teachers/staff and parents.

And, as if that's not enough, she also got her hands on an e-mail from La Voz de Aztlan that will rock your world. Here's an excerpt (emphasis is mine):

URGENT ALERT: From The Revolutionary Council andProvisional Government of Aztlan
April 26, 2006

Estimada Raza de Aztlan and Beyond,

Our Director of Special Intelligence Services has broughtto our attention disturbing information that threatens thesafety of our families. This information requires that weprepare a defense strategy to protect our communities.

Due to the recent large demonstrations of our people inmajor cities in occupied Anahuac, extremist European invaders are preparing violent actions against us. They are expected to use physical violence in the upcoming marches and rallies planned for May 1, 2006 and we must take steps to protect our families.

The Director of Special Intelligence Services has reliable information that anti-Mexican forces in Aztlan and in certain other area of Anahuac, are preparing to utilize explosives and snipers to kill our people. We urge our community to arm themselves to protect our families.

Hundred of thousands of people who are here illegally being called to take to our streets -- armed -- to make demands on our country. Do we have to actually wait for there to be blood in the streets from this shit before our government will do something about it? The scary part is that I'm not even sure they will do anything to stop it after it turns horribly violent.

Monday is going to be a very interesting day, indeed.

OBITUARY

Source: politicoprogram

OBITUARY: THE SAD PASSING OF COMMON SENSE

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Panadol, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student; but, could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by three stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

This REALLY -- REALLY Pissed Me Off!

Source: WAPO

This post will contain exceedingly strong language, buckle up kiddos gonna be a wild ride!
Veterans Drawn Into Immigration Debate

Marcial Rodriguez, a U.S. Marine who grew up in a Mexican farming village, is offended that the country he went to war for might deport his relatives who are living here illegally.

Three months after the lance corporal returned to Ohio from the fighting in Iraq, the U.S. House adopted a bill that would make Rodriguez's cousin a felon for being one of the nation's 11 million illegal immigrants.

Rodriguez, 20, said he enlisted in the Marine reserves to repay the debt he felt owed to a country that had given him an education and a home for his family.

"People from many different countries are fighting, not just from Mexico," he said. "We want to participate in this country."

It is unclear how many soldiers find their loyalties similarly divided, but at a time when Pentagon has stepped up recruiting of Hispanics to fill recruiting quotas, experts say a crackdown on illegal immigration would undoubtedly cause resentment in the ranks.
Let me start by saying I have the utmost respect for all soldiers. I do, anyone who knows me knows this to be true.

A little bit about me, I have worked in professional kitchens for thirty years, I have gone to the hospital about sixty times in that time for cuts, falls, burns, broken bones, etc. Several times I've come close to being killed on the job, no shit I could have been killed several times doing my job.

I understand something about doing dirty dangerous work.

So while I have the utmost respect for all soldiers I don't put them on a pedestal. Many Americans do dangerous jobs also, on a daily basis, and those Americans more often than not are the very same Americans who deeply appreciate the troops, I know, I'm one of them.

So when I read what this puling sack of shit says in this article I am disgusted and ashamed. I am horrified that this piece of racist crap defended this country. Even more so I am horrified that someone could serve in that capacity and not understand the fucking constitution he claimed to be defending.

If any American serviceperson finds their loyalties divided they are in the wrong goddamn job!

When I hear this puling sack of crap whine about his family I would remind him of the oath he took upon entering the service...
I, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.
Bear true faith and allegiance, perhaps that doesn't translate well into Spanish? Perhaps this individual missed that day, because it seems as clear as a fucking bell to me!

I reiterate, should you find your loyalties divided, here's a thought...Get the fuck out! Go back to the country you seem to feel an allegiance for. When you don that uniform you become an exemplar, what that means, and I'm gonna type this slow because clearly you're an idiot, is you cannot then wave your fucking uniform as a banner for LAW-BREAKING you ignorant sack of shit!!

If you think I'm being too hard on this individual, I would retort -- I don't think I'm being hard enough. When you swear an oath it either means something or it doesn't, if it doesn't mean anything to you that tells me you are a faithless motherfucker not worth pissing on if you were on fire.

I truly cannot tell you how upset I am with this "Marine." This alleged "hero." Because to me when you start advocating for law-breaking you lose hero status pretty goddamn fast.

Is this the price of granting the children of illegals entrance into the proud tradition of the most fearsome fighting machine in the history of mankind? That we must grant them special --above the law -- privileges?

That price is too high for any nation to pay and remain a strong nation.

If this individual represents any sort of trend then I already know what I would counsel. No more, no more children of illegals can be allowed into our military under any circumstances if upon their retirement they will immediately begin agitating against the very country they served. If their service is no more than a political symbol to be thrown in Americans faces to advocate against the rule of law, that price is far too high.

I hold our men and women in uniform to a high standard of excellence, I'll wager for the vast majority a standard lower than they themselves set. So to see an individual like this agitate for a foreign governement inside this nation I see red, I want to kick their ass, I want to pound home the reality through their thick skull how much they've disrespected this nation and the uniform they wore.

They make me one tick less proud of our military. And to me, that's the true unpardonable sin.

Seaboard pork plant to close for immigration rally

Source: Reuters
CHICAGO (Reuters) - Seaboard Corp. said it will close its Guymon, Oklahoma, pork plant on Monday to allow workers to attend rallies planned for that day in support of immigration reform, the company said.

The plant has a daily hog slaughter capacity of about 16,000 head, the company said.

On Tuesday, Cargill Inc. said its five beef plants and two hog plants will be closed on Monday for the rallies.
Now why would they do that? I'm certain all their employees are here legally, so why close the plants?

Yeah, what does it say that they are willing to forego a workday to have continued access to their slaves. I think it's high time we hung a couple of these skunks.

I know I'm rambling here, but I'm genuinely astonished by the brazenness, the brazenness I say!

I've said this before but, do we really want this sort of human scum, the lowest of the low driving any aspect of our immigration policy? Do we think for one red hairy Baboon's ass that they give a flying rat's butt about you or I?

I think not.

Reconquista Blues

All Things Beautiful reports...
I woke up this morning to a comment in my comments section in Spanish, telling me that President Bush is an idiot, and that I had better get used to this commenter's language, as it will be officially recognized in his part of the country, within a few years.

Deal with it.
Here's the comment with a response from ATB...
Hace años, le dijimos que el presidente fuera un idiota. Tony Snow no uniforme lo defenderá, puesto que él tomó esta decisión absurda.

Acomódese a usar esta lengua. Será reconocido oficialmente en mi parte del país, después de algunos años.

["Get used to this language. It will be officially recognized in my part of the country, within a few years."

When you wake up from your dream let me know, in the meantime, this is not the official language of the USA, and certainly not of this blog. If you want to be understood make your point in English, especially if you want to slam the Administration as you are doing. And yes you are right, the President is an idiot for trying to be fair to your countrymen, but don't worry you will fix that by your actions. I see you have the right attitude.

If you post again in Spanish it will be deleted. Yours sincerely ATB]
Why don't we believe them? Why won't we believe them?

Whenever someone makes a comment like this it seems to me everyone leaps in the air as if they've been goosed and begin prattling about how they don't really mean it, it's only a small number of idiots that say these sort of things.

Is that true?

Seems to me I hear this kind of talk more and more with an attendant number of excuses, evasions and flat out fingers in the ears la-la-la-ing to cover up the unpleasant sound it inevitably makes.

See, I have a theory. The Super Villain theory. A super villain will always tell you what dastardly deeds he plans to perform before he performs them.

So we have 12 million illegal aliens in this country, pointedly unassimilated, and now the tone turns threatening and we're being told, told not hinted at or in a roundabout fashion, told that this country or at least parts of it will be retaken for Mexico.

Well, NO! I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's time to place a pointy toed boot where it hurts every time we even sense someone thinking this tripe. It's time to take this fight to the enemy. Let me spell it out for the slow and the dumb.

Mexico is our implacable enemy. They are a ringworm on our nation, a ringworm that feels entitled to all the blood and treasure it can amass. You don't negotiate with a ringworm, you don't look to a ringworm to help solve the problem of ringworm infestations, you kill ringworms.

Now I know some gentle readers are hyper-ventilating and fanning themselves with lace hankies so let me be clear. I'm not suggesting you go kill Mexicans in the streets. My beef is with Mexico whom I regard as an open and unabashed enemy and I guarantee we will have violent strife with Mexico within the next decade. Guarantee it.

It is in a literal sense time to tell Mexico to go screw, to piss up a rope, to take a hike.

As to those who live in this country and feel a need to threaten us with their reconquista dreams? It's time for them to be removed from this country with prejudice. In the hardest way possible.

If your dream is for this country to be reduced to the pitiable level of Mexico?

Let me be the first to suggest that the border works both ways, asshat!

Asleep At The Wheel?

This just in via E-mail...
I can almost assure you that everyone who is a true American was sickened when you saw multitudes of protesters carrying Mexican flags protesting the new Immigration Reform Bill in the Senate. This display of Mexican flags should give you a heads up on where these protesters allegiance lies. Their hearts are in Mexico and their bellies are in the United States.

As an American of Mexican Heritage I want to set the record straight. American Hispanics are not all thrilled with illegal immigration. I, for more than 20 years, tried desperately to bring this national debacle to the attention of the American people. I had the privilege of writing for several newspapers, appeared on national and local TV and radio programs, and was asked by many political groups to address this serious problem affecting my former community (north Fort Worth), city, state, and our country. Many will question how I can speak on this subject with some authority. My simple answer is: I lived with the problem! Trust me, it was no picnic. Never in my life (I'm 68) had I witnessed the lawlessness, the deterioration of my community, and the black market criminal underground activities attributed to the influx of illegal immigrants.

To add injury to insult, politicians soon caved in to the many demands of illegal immigrants. Notably: bilingual education, bilingual ballots, welfare aid, free medical care, etc. Through all this national disgrace allowed by our politicians, have you all noticed that no one ever blames the useless, corrupt, and disgraceful government of Mexico? In contrast, they lambaste and criticize our country. How does that grab you?

When I addressed the dangers of our porous border between Mexico and the United States, and the lax security of our nation, no one paid attention. As I observed the situation, the problem was perceived to be between American Hispanic communities and illegal immigrants. White Americans, it seemed, assumed that the problem was not theirs to deal with. In other words they were asleep at the wheel. However, 9-11 soon woke them up. Lets be honest with each other here, white Americans vote in far larger numbers than Hispanics do. And most politicians (Democrats and Republicans) in our city, state, and federal governments are white. Thus, who is more suited to fix this national disaster? I'm sure most of you know what the answer is.

In summation, I'm pleading with white American voters to join me in sending our politicians (Democrats and Republicans) a strong message that we will not tolerate illegal immigrants telling us how to make government policy that will make it easier for them to break our laws. Hope you will join me in this endeavor in our upcoming elections.

Andy McCarthy On Iran And The Southern Border

Source: NRO
CAN WE AFFECT TWO DEBATES WITH ONE SIMPLE QUESTION? [Andy McCarthy]

Given Cliff and Stanley's aptly alarming posts, and the other news that Iran is talking about sharing its nascent nuke know-how with Sudan (where bin Laden just told all the jihadists they should head in last week's tape), I have a simple question I'd love to hear Congress answer:

Can the United States afford to take any action against Iran if our southern border is not secure?

Iran is not playing. If we do something -- and it looks ever more obvious that we are going to have to do something, whether it's military or a precursor to military action -- Iran is going to retaliate.

The retaliation we most have to worry about is a nuclear attack against our homeland.

The easiest way to get a nuke into the United States may well be the southern border. (The ports may be equally easy or a close second, I acknowledge.)

I don't mean to be alarmist, but with what Iran is up to -- the development, the proliferation, the likelihood of arming terrorists -- forget about the 12 million illegals. How can we in good conscience not deal with our borders?
It's a good question that I've been asking.

The House Is On Fayah!

Source: opinionjournal

I run about 50/50 with Peggy Noonan, sometimes I likee, sometimes, not so much. This I thought was pretty good....
Congress and the White House right now are like people who live in a big house who have finally noticed the kitchen is on fire. So they all meet in the living room and debate how exactly to rebuild the kitchen, what color to repaint the walls, and how to get the best deal on a new microwave. And while they are holding their discussion they're forgetting to do the most important thing. They're forgetting to put out the fire. You can lose a house this way. Putting out the fire in this case is closing and policing the essentially open border with Mexico--now. Close down illegal immigration, now. Then talk. (A hunch for liberals: Your views will be received with greater generosity once the air of daily crisis is removed.)

Eric: Funny you should ask … Many of the supporters and allies of Save Our State and the Minutemen are US Neo Nazi organizations such as National Vanguard, and the National Alliance. Also, there is a strange connection between what David Duke and his lackeys were doing in the late 1970’s called “Klan Border Watch” it was a complete KKK sponsored border watch, not unlike what the minutemen are doing today. California Border Watch said in 2005 that they no longer support the Minutemen Project, along with numerous other projects, simply because many of their members and allies were of racist or fascist origin. The original Minutemen of the San Diego KKK n the 1930’s had similar ideas and ethics of todays Minutemen.

Comments!

I always love when smart people read this blog and take the time to comment. Stephanie left this comment under this post...
I have three words for you: dereliction of duty.

I've heard lots of reasons for impeaching the President that I cannot get behind. Refusing to enforce the law is one that I can.
Yep, me too. I'm sorry to say that I'm ready to see president Bush impeached. The irony is that even a year and a half ago I would have called that position madness. If that makes me a KOS kid, so be it.

Steph operates an excellent blog here.

Fox Better Than Bush!

So says Bob Lonsberry. Sadly, I can't disagree.

Which gets back to the point that Mexico has a better president than we do. There’s no doubt that the Mexican president stands up for his country. There’s no evidence that the American president stands up for his.

The Enemy Unmasked...

Source: Washington Times
U.S. Lobbyists Lash Out at Mexican Boycott

MEXICO CITY (AP) -- U.S. lobbyists lashed out Wednesday at the Mexican "Nothing Gringo" campaign timed for May 1 to coincide with the "Day Without Immigrants" boycott in the United States.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Mexico said organizers are risking a backlash and foolishly targeting some of their best allies, since U.S. corporations have actively lobbied the U.S. Congress for immigration reform including legalization for many of the estimated 11 million undocumented migrants.

Mexicans' refusal to "buy American" on May 1 could further polarize the debate and make reform supporters seem anti-American at the very moment that lobbyists are trying to persuade lawmakers in Washington to pass a bill that would benefit migrants, worries Larry Rubin, the chamber's president.
I think what he's trying to say here is...while lobbyists try to convince gullible and greedy representatives that these reprobates give a flying you know what about this country.

The nut graf, as it were...
"This is like shooting oneself in the foot," Rubin said. "U.S. companies have been the first to lobby, launching a huge lobbying effort for immigration reform. ... Why hurt something that is helping you?"
Strange isn't it that American businesses would be this involved in the ILLEGAL immigration debate? It's almost as if they felt personally involved, or had a profit motive or something.

Nah, I'm sure they're doing it out of the goodness of their greedy, grasping hearts!

Neustro Himno: It Sucks!

I just had the misfortune of listening to this.

We blogged on it here. It's the new Latino/a rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

Here are the lyrics to this tripe...(Chicago Tribune)
Verse 1

Chant:

It's time to make a difference the kids, men and the women/Let's stand for our beliefs, let's stand for our vision/What about the children los ninos como P-Star

These kids have no parents, cause all of these mean laws.

See this can't happen, not only about the Latins.

Asians, blacks and whites and all they do is adding

more and more, let's not start a war

with all these hard workers,

they can't help where they were born.

Verse 2

Simply unbelievable!

The Face Of Cowardice

Source: WND
Saying the "reality of the situation" is that millions of illegal aliens are here to stay, presidential press secretary Scott McClellan today defended President Bush's belief that deporting "undocumented people" is infeasible.

WND asked McClellan at the White House press briefing: "The president is the chief executive charged with enforcing the laws of the United States. And the law says an illegal entrant is to be deported. Yet yesterday he said mass deportation wouldn't work. And my question: By articulating that policy, isn't the president violating his executive duties?"

Responded the spokesman: "Les, the president has made very clear that we have a responsibility to enforce our laws. We are also a nation of immigrants, and we can be both. We can enforce our laws … and we can be a nation of immigrants."

McClellan then outlined steps that Bush has taken to improve enforcement, but added, "We also need to look at the reality of the situation."

Continued McClellan: "We have – I think it's an estimated 12 million undocumented people in this country. There is an economic need that some of those people are filling, jobs that Americans are not wanting to do. And the president believes that if we're going to fix the immigration system, we need to do it in a comprehensive way. And that means including a temporary guest worker program, which will help relieve pressure off the border.
I don't have another word for this, do you?

This is cowardice in it's rankest form. I am embarrassed and ashamed that I voted for this man, has he done things I agree with, yes. However, on this he's so bad, so odious that all the rest is undone. I only hope when the damage is done that he will pay the price for these decisions, but I don't hold out much hope. Politicians never pay the price for their arrogance and the evil their policies cause.

We do.

A Letter

Cheree from IFIRE just asked us to submit letters that she will read to her Indiana Senators on the subject of illegal immigration. Here's mine...

Dear Senators,

While our nation has had a proud tradition of immigration, that immigration served to create new patriotic citizens, not low wage serfs. As we move forward as a nation will we maintain the egality that was the wonder of the world, or bow to greedy business owners who demand illegal workers at slave wages passing callously the costs of those workers to average Americans who struggle to make ends meet.

The time to act is now. Let us pursue legislation that is truly in our proudest traditions. Legislation that rewards the hard work of American citizens. Legislation that rightly protects American citizens over those who have come here illegally. Most of all legislation that moves us closer to that fundamental truth of the American dream...

All men are created equal.

With respect,
Brian Jacobsen

The Anti-Minutemen And CAIR Are Liars!

CAIR-Chicago is urging everyone to call the State’s Attorney and the Mayor of Arlington Heights and tell them that you support the Anti-Minutemen 5, and that the charges should be dropped. No one should be prosecuted for peacefully protesting. Additionally, please voice your concern over the inappropriate treatment of the only hijab-wearing Muslim at the protest. Below is the contact information of the State’s Attorney’s Office and the mayor of Arlington Heights:

State’s Attorney’s Office: 847-818-2326

Arlene Mulder
Mayor of Arlington Heights
847-368-5105
847-368-5100

We need hundreds of phone calls to go out in the next 6 days!! Please call everyday and encourage all the people you know to do the same. Information on the case is below:

CAIR-Chicago is urging everyone to respond to an egregious case of police misconduct against Rehana Khan, a Muslim girl who had her headscarf (hijab) ripped off after she and several others were arrested while protesting at a rally for immigrant rights. Rehana was also searched in the presence of a male officer and placed into lockup without her hijab.

The 5 protestors who were arrested (now known as the Anti-Minutemen 5) are activists who were arrested in Arlington Heights on October 15, 2005 at a peaceful protest against a racist, anti-immigrant vigilante group called the Minutemen. They are now facing trumped up charges and up to 4 years in jail.

With only a few days left until trial begins for the Anti-Minutemen defendants, CAIR-Chicago is urging everyone to flood the State’s Attorney and Mayor's offices with phone calls.
How do we know CAIR is lying? Well, clue one is that their mouths are moving, ba-dum-dum!

However, it turns out MJ and I attended the Minuteman summit in Arlington Heights that day. Our reportage is here, here and here. There are a couple of others if you poke about. If that was a 'peaceful' protest I'd surely hate to see what they think a violent one might be.

Let's turn this around on these jokers. If anybody has a spare minute give the mayor of Arlington Heights a call and let her know most Americans would like to see the book thrown at these jack-asses.

Fair Tax Blogburst

"Every new sweeping tax law Congress enacts -— always called a 'reform' —- makes the job even more complicated and, if possible, more confusing. And the tax code longer. But we're all supposed to swear, on penalty of perjury, that we've done our best to find it... Is tax reform the answer? It's more like the problem, since every reform tends to complicate tax law only more. And the longer and worse the tax code gets, the less chance there is of really reforming the thing. What to do? Don't mend it, end it. Abolish the tax code and start all over. Think about it: Would anybody starting from scratch come up with a system as indecipherable and counterproductive as the one we've got? So why not opt for a clean break with the past? Abolish the Internal Revenue Code and begin anew." —Paul Greenberg

"[The tax code] is a monstrosity and there's only one thing to do with it. Scrap it, kill it, drive a stake through its heart, bury it and hope it never rises again to terrorize the American people." -Steve Forbes

Americans for Fair TaxationI can think of not one single person who thinks that the income tax is not broken. As Paul Greenberg asks above, "Would anyone starting from scratch come up with a system as indecipherable and counterproductive as the one we've got?" Not hardly. The only question is, what do we replace it with? This week we're going to keep it short and simple, because you have a homework assignment.

We can argue till the cows come home about the relative benefits of the Fair Tax, the Flat Tax, and the Income Tax (are there benefits to the Income Tax?), but "the proof is in the pudding", as they say.

Please take the time you might spend reading a longer post, and visit The FairTax Calculator. There are eight (8) fields to complete, you'll probably need your income tax return and a current paycheck for yourself and your spouse (if you're married). After doing that, click "Submit" to get your results. Don't forget to read the note at the bottom of the screen regarding your FICA (Social Security) taxes!

Then comment on this blog regarding the results. Would you like to see the FairTax implemented? I'm betting the answer will be a resounding Yes!

Made Me Cry...

Source: MLB
"In between the top and bottom of the fourth inning, I was just getting loose in the outfield, throwing the ball back and forth. Jose Cardenal was in left field and I was in center. I don't know if I heard the crowd first or saw the guys first, but two people ran on the field. After a number of years of playing, when someone comes on the field, you don't know what's going to happen. Is it because they had too much to drink? Is it because they're trying to win a bet? Is it because they don't like you or do they have a message that they're trying to present?

"When these two guys ran on the field, something wasn't right. And it wasn't right from the standpoint that one of them had something cradled under his arm. It turned out to be an American flag. They came from the left-field corner, went past Cardenal to shallow left-center field.

"That's when I saw the flag. They unfurled it as if it was a picnic blanket. They knelt beside it, not to pay homage but to harm it as one of the guys was pulling out of his pocket somewhere a big can of lighter fluid. He began to douse it.

"What they were doing was wrong then, in 1976. In my mind, it's wrong now, in 2006. It's the way I was raised. My thoughts were reinforced with my six years in the Marine Corp Reserves. It was also reinforced by a lot of friends who lost their lives protecting the rights and freedoms that flag represented.

"So I started to run after them. To this day, I couldn't tell you what was running through my mind except I was mad, I was angry and it was wrong for a lot of reasons.

"Then the wind blew the first match out. There was hardly ever any wind at Dodger Stadium. The second match was lit, just as I got there. I did think that if I could bowl them over, they can't do what they're trying to do.

"I saw them go and put the match down to the flag. It's soaked in lighter fluid at this time. Well, they can't light it if they don't have it. So I just scooped it up.

"My first thought was, 'Is this on fire?' Well, fortunately, it was not. I continue to run. One of the men threw the can of lighter fluid at me. We found out he was not a prospect. He did not have a good arm. Thank goodness.

"Tommy Lasorda was in his last year as third-base coach before he took over for Hall of Fame manager Walter Alston. Tommy ran past me and called these guys every name in the longshoreman's encyclopedia."

"A lot of people don't know this, but he beat me to the flag," recalls Lasorda. "I saw Rick start running over from center field to left. I didn't know what it was, but as soon as I saw him start, I took off and I ran out there, and of course, by that time, Rick had picked up the flag and continued running. When I got there, I see these two guys and I told them, 'Why don't one of you guys take a swing at me?' because there were 50-something thousand people in the ballpark and I only wanted them to swing at me, so I could defend myself and do a job on them."

Monday continued, "Doug Rau, a left-handed pitcher for the Dodgers at the time, came out of the dugout and I handed the flag to him. The two guys were led off the field through the Dodger bullpen.

"After the guys left, there was a buzz in the stands, people being aghast with what had taken place. Without being prompted, and I don't know where it started, but people began to sing 'God Bless America.' When I reflect back upon it now, I still get goose bumps."
Thank you Americans! Thank you Mr. Monday!

Activist Conference Call

I received a tip last night that activists from immigrantsolidarity.org would be holding a conference call on the May 1st protests. My source also provided the phone # and access code.

These are rough notes jotted down quickly as I listened in on the call...(I got some names and missed others so all are simply attributed to generic activists) (it was also really boring socialist twaddle for the most part so I hope you appreciate my willingness to enter the fetid leftist swamps for you dear reader, I do it all for you)
"Laws don't matter, it's all politics."

"The law doesn't matter, we need to build confidence in the immigrant community to stop harrassment and threats."

(The protesters) "They will be successful because they're organized at work, at home and around the dinner table."

(On the boycott) "No purchasing, no showers, no electricity, closing down immigrant owned businesses."

"(Hispanic) Radio stations are still behind the organizing."

(Suggested slogan) "See the face of Christ in the face of the undocumented."

"Legalization is not amnesty, it's something earned."

"They'll (illegal aliens) be fingerprinted which made my white, conservative congregation much more comfortable."

"We're in a fight for power against right wingers who want to criminalize immigrants."

"Have speakers fluent in english. When you speak in Spanish you're preaching to the choir. You don't want to speak to the choir, you want to speak to the media."

(On wearing white) "I don't know about that, the students were wearing red to support MECHA."
The most telling quote to me are the first two suggesting laws don't matter.

The funniest are those that suggest the enemy is right wingers. Did these folks miss the president's speech yesterday?

Let's Try on Mexico's Immigration Law for Size

Just read this.

Mexico has a radical idea for a rational immigration policy that most Americans would love. But Mexican officials haven't been sharing the idea with us as they press Congress to adopt the McCain-Kennedy immigration-reform bill. That's too bad, because Mexico, which annually deports more illegal aliens than the United States does, has much to teach us about how to handle immigration; under Mexican law, it is a felony to be an illegal alien.

As the Supreme Court and politicians seek to bring U.S. law in line with foreign legal norms, it's noteworthy that no one has argued that the United States look at what Mexico might teach us about how to solve our illegal-immigration problem. Mexico has a single, streamlined law, seeking to ensure that foreign visitors and immigrants are:

_ In the country legally.
_ Have the means to sustain themselves economically.
_ Not destined to be burdens on society.
_ Of economic and social benefit to society.
_ Of good character, with no criminal record.
Yeah, Mexico has definitely adopted a "do as I say, not as I do" approach to meddling in U.S. immigration policy. Vicente Fox had barely been sworn into office as president of Mexico when he conveyed what he thought Mexicans should be served by the United States...The Whole Enchilada.

The Mexican constitution strictly defines the rights of citizens, and the denial of many rights to non-citizens. The General Law on Population, spelling out the country's immigration policy, should cause Americans to ask: Why is our southern neighbor pushing us to water down our immigration laws and policies when its own immigration restrictions are the toughest on the continent? If a felony is a crime punishable by more than a year in prison, Mexican law makes it a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico. Yet if the United States adopted such a law, Mexico would no doubt denounce it as a manifestation of American bigotry.
No doubt, indeed. And, as Grace of Will & Grace fame would say...ironical.

The stark contrast between Mexico's immigration practices and its American-immigration preachings reveals the Mexican government's agenda: to have a one-way immigration relationship with the United States.

Let's call Mexico's bluff on its interference in U.S. immigration policy. Let us propose, just to make a point, that North American Free Trade Agreement member nations standardize their immigration laws by using Mexico's law as a model.
Sounds like a plan to me.

Another State That's Not Mine on the Right Track

Just read this.

The Senate voted today for a bill that targets employers who attract and hire illegal aliens, ends public assistance for illegal immigrants, and strengthens the role of local law enforcement in identifying, detaining and deporting illegal residents of Missouri.
The bill's sponsor, Sen. Bill Alter, had this to say:

"When an illegal immigrant is working here, they are stealing a job from a hard working Missourian. It is incredibly important that we crack down on employers who are hiring these undocumented workers, and give our local and state law enforcement officers every tool they need to find and remove them."
and this:

"If we don't stop rewarding them with chances at free education and free healthcare, that number will only continue to grow. These illegal aliens are stealing precious tax dollars that help Missouri's working families send their children to school and college."
What he said!

The bill still needs final approval by the state senate before being considered by Missouri's house.

First, I wish you the best, Sen. Alter, in your efforts to protect the livelihoods and rights of the people of your fine state.

And, second -- have you ever considered moving to Illinois? It's quite lovely this time of year...

Response to President Bush on Illegal Immigration

The president had some things to say about illegal immigration today (although he doesn't call it that!). Read the transcript of his address in Orange County here.

My letter to President Bush goes a little something like this:

Dear President Bush:

Earlier today, during an address in Orange County, California, you said the following:

“…we are a nation of immigrants, that we have had a grand tradition in this country of welcoming people into our society. And ours is a society that is able to take the newly arrived, and they become equally American. I believe that immigration has helped reinvigorate the soul of America. I know that when somebody comes to our country because he or she has a dream and is willing to work hard for that dream, it makes America a better place.”

I am in complete agreement with these words that you spoke, Mr. President. Unfortunately, you stole their power with more talk of alleged border enforcement, guest worker programs to fill “jobs Americans won’t do,” and rewarding those who have shown their disrespect for this country by breaking our laws with the privilege of U.S. citizenship.

We do have a “grand tradition in this country of welcoming people into our society.” People who come here lawfully. People who do not break our laws every day when they get up to go to a job that should rightfully be held by an American or a legal immigrant being paid a living wage. People who do not, after breaking our laws, take to the streets of our cities to demand rights that belong to citizens.

We do have ”a society that is able to take the newly arrived, and they become equally American.” When they do, indeed, become American. People who demand government services in a language other than English are not becoming American. People who fly another country’s flag over an upside-down Old Glory are not becoming American. People who take the oath of U.S. citizenship, but vote in and pay allegiance to another country are not becoming American.

“I believe that immigration has helped reinvigorate the soul of America.” Me too! LEGAL immigration. Those who have come here ILLEGALLY spit on every immigrant who has waited in line, sacrificed, fought for and earned the freedoms we enjoy in this great country. Immigration has, indeed, helped reinvigorate the soul of America. Where else in the world do people of every color, race and creed come together with a shared set of values, dreams, and opportunities? That IS the soul of this country, and it can only be diminished by eroding the rule of law that is the foundation of this great society. The only thing that illegal immigration reinvigorates is the bottom line of businesses that have become addicted to cheap labor at the expense of the poorest Americans.

“I know that when somebody comes to our country because he or she has a dream and is willing to work hard for that dream, it makes America a better place.” Only if that person respects and abides by our laws in the pursuit of that dream. Are we or are we not a sovereign nation? Who gets to decide our immigration policy – us, or those who would swell our population illegally then demand legalization, citizenship, and all the benefits that legal immigrants must earn?

I am saddened, disappointed, and angered every time you speak on immigration, Mr. President. You refuse to make any real and meaningful distinction between those who come here illegally and those who respect our laws. As a matter of fact, you heap praise on the lawbreakers while vilifying the patriots who have the guts to stand up and note that the government is not doing the ultimate job it is supposed to be doing: representing the American people.

Your insistence on doing the right thing, even when it was unpopular, was one of the main reasons you got my vote. Twice.

I implore you to do the right thing, now. Please don’t continue to turn your back on the American people while opening your arms to those whose first act on American soil was to break our laws. We deserve much better than that from the man we elected to guard and further our best interests.

We deserve a country where laws are enforced, and politicians listen to the citizenry. We deserve a country where Americans are treated with decency and respect. We deserve our America back.

We’re pretty decent folks ourselves, and generous, too. We like to share all the bounties of our great country with people from all corners of the globe. We just want to have a say in who gets to come, and how many, before we welcome them with open arms.

Is that too much to ask?
